School Information

Our school doors open at 8:45am for children and parents to come into school to do a short activity together. The register is taken at 9am, at which time the outside doors are closed. Any late children should come into school via the office entrance. The children have one morning playtime for 15 minutes and a lunch time for 1 hour 15 minutes. School finishes at 3:00pm. Parents can collect their children from the outside door closest to their classroom.

We encourage children to wear the school uniform of either red or royal blue sweat shirts, jade or white polo t-shirts, and black or grey trousers or skirts.
All uniform items bearing the school logo can be ordered and paid for in the office. Alternatively Asda or any other leading supermarket are good places to purchase these colours without the school logo on.

In 2007 we achieved the Rotherham Healthy Schools award. Children have access to free fruit at playtime. A range of fruit is given to children every day to encourage them to eat healthily.Free milk is available for children under five. Children over five can pay a small fee each half term to receive milk.
We provide each child in school with their own water bottle. Children are encouraged to drink throughout the day so they remain hydrated and healthy.

We take pride in the good behaviour of all our children. Children are taught that there are rewards or consequences for all behaviours. They are taught to think before they act and to resolve differences peacefully. Each class has a 'Golden Book' in which hard work and acts of kindness are noted. Golden tickets are handed out over the dinner period to recognise positive behaviour.

There is an assembly each week in which the behaviour of the children mentioned in the book is celebrated and they are rewarded with a golden sticker from the Head Teacher.

Our attendance target is 93% and each week the class who has the best attendance is rewarded in assembly with the Attendance Trophy. At the end of each term children with 100% attendance are presented with a special certificate.

We actively encourage parents to come into school both to support their child's learning and develop their own. We run a number of Family Learning courses in which parents work alongside their child for some of the time. We also host a range of adult learning classes including Literacy, maths and ICT.
If you would be interested in participating in any of these courses please see Mrs Howells in the office or telephone school.

Badsley Moor Infants is an inclusive school where children of all abilities are challenged and supported appropriately. Where parents have concerns about their children or feel they may have 'Special Educational Needs', worries can be discussed with their class teacher and / or the Senco(Special Needs Co-ordinator). Teachers and Teaching Assistants are well trained in meeting the needs of children with SEN as well as children who are gifted and talented. Outside agencies such as Learning Support and Speech Therapy reinforce the work we do where necessary.
